As seasons change, I go through a renewal of thought, perspective and goals for the coming months. In the winter, we have the new year, so this is a time of renewal. I like to spend lots of time cleaning and purging the things in my house that no longer serve me so I can go outside when the weather is nicer. In the spring, it is all about getting the outside cleaned up and getting planting done, so that in the summer I can go out to play. In the summer my goal is to spend as many waking hours outside enjoying the nice weather, the pool and the company of friends and family. In the fall, once again there is a spurt of cleaning and project planning for Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas.

One of the dictionary meanings of perspectives is: a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.

Synonyms: outlook, view, viewpoint, point of view, standpoint, position, stand, stance, angle, slant, attitude, frame of mind, frame of reference, approach, way of looking, interpretation

Our perspectives change according to what is happening in our lives as well. Putting yourself in a frame of mind that gives you peace is not always easy. Taking just a couple minutes a day to go to this place where nothing else matters…where it is all about you and your inner peace, helps to make your life easier to navigate.

For myself my personal focus right now is weight loss and being the healthiest version of me I can be. Christmas was a food fest. There were so many delicious temptations and I enjoyed every one of them. Now I am ready to move on without feeling guilty about these additional treats. The added few pounds will be released quickly with my approach to my weight loss. Where I am when I start is only a point of reference. I have a plan and knowledge of how to make this work.

Eating for health, core workouts, body weight workouts and yoga are part of this perspective, my focus for the winter season. I love to challenge myself in new ways so this will be fun to see my progress. I will keep you posted. I know it won’t be perfect but remembering that every positive is better than not working towards achieving my health goals. For now I have set 5 pound increments towards my ultimate goal. Will I reach it? Darn right I will. 🙂 Journalling is a very important part of my progress, I helps me focus on my achievements and

Spending a little time assessing goals for the year helps me to move forward. I set a goal last year for my business to take Fridays off by the end of the year. I have achieved half of that goal and now take Friday afternoons off and start at 9:30 instead of 9:00 each day so it creates a balance and gives me choices and permission to be flexible in my schedule. This year my goal for my business is to continue to do the best I can for my clients and myself. My plan is to review my my plan from last year to meet my financial goals and my commitment to keeping my own website also up to date. Of course a goal without a plan never really works so this week I am spending a lot of time planning and putting it into action.

I find if I review and reset or reaffirm my goals on a seasonal basis and plan how I want to achieve them, then it makes it easier in the long run. I do my best. That is all I can ask of myself. I know I am not perfect but I am perfectly me. Life is far from perfect and there are lots of things we cannot control so I just go with the flow. If it is out of my control, no amount of thinking or worrying about it will change it so I put it in a worry box and let the universe take care of it until it is either resolved or something changes and I have some control over the situation or events.

Does your perspective change in the new year? Do you feel energized, do you set new goals, does your focus change? I wish you peace, fresh perspectives, prosperity and happiness in 2023.
