I love crunchy granola! it is a wonderful topping for fruit, yogurt, ice cream, and even if you just need little tiny snack. 🙂

Lately I seem to have a seed addiction. This is a great problem to have as seeds are full of healthy goodness. Here is a great link that gives you lots of great information on these benefits and many of these seeds are in my granola.


Granola is a funny thing. You can make it so many different ways and depending on how you make it will determine how healthy it is for you.

On my weight loss journey with Weight Watchers Canada one of the things I seemed to be missing was enough healthy fats. Since eating more seeds my dry skin and dull hair has disappeared and has been replaced with a nice glow.

So onto my mix. So many things I love and one of my favorite ingredients in it is coconut flakes. Of course with healthy fats fiber is also so important to a healthy lifestyle. This granola also gives you a nice little fiber boost to help keep the digestive track healthy too. 🙂

Since I have been having this love affair with seeds I had all these ingredients in the house. If you need to buy them though, your local bulk Barn has them and can be bought in small quantities.

This recipe literally takes just 10 minutes to make and you will be enjoying your granola over your choice of goodies. For me today my choice was fruit and a couple tbsp of yogurt.

By the way, once you get the idea of measurements you know that 2 TBSP = 1/8 cup. 4 TBSP = 1/4 cup etc. and it makes it easier to figure out the number of servings for this type of recipe. 

Granola Topping

2 TBSP per serving – 2FS smart points per serving. 

16 servings

1/4 cup coconut flakes

1/4 cup sliced almonds

1/4 cup flax seed meal

1/4 cup pumpkin seeds

1/8 cup chia seeds

1/8 cup poppy seeds

1/4 cup fiber 1 original cereal

1/4 cup Love Crunch chocolate macaroon cereal, crumbled

1/4 cup toasted oatmeal

1/2 tsp cinnamon

olive oil cooking spray or another oil to lne frying pan.

1 tblsp water

Mix together all ingredients up to the oatmeal. Spray fryeing pan with cooking oil or lightly coat with coconut oil (my favorite) or oil of your choice. Let heat then add the oatmeal with the cinnamon and water. Stir over medium high heat for just a couple minutes until the oatmeal is dry and a bit crispy. Remove from heat and add to the other ingredients and stir.

Now enjoy!
